Riverstone Motel is situated toward the southern boundary of the Rangiora township and is easy to reach from State Highway 1 (take the State Highway 71 exit to Rangiora). The motel is adjacent to The Brook Bar and Eatery and Henry's Bottle Store. Entering Rangiora from the south, look out for PAK'nSAVE (yellow building) on the right and Mitre10 Mega (orange building) on the left... the Riverstone Motel entrance is on the right, after the traffic lights, just after Henry's.

From the north, drive through Rangiora heading toward Christchurch. At the traffic lights on the corner of South Belt and Southbrook Road, the Riverstone Motel entrance is 600 metres further up on the left hand side, opposite Rangiora Hire.

The motel is only 25-30 minutes drive from Christchurch city centre and with the new city bypass, is only 20-25 minutes from Christchurch International Airport.

Being close to the Inland Scenic Route (State Highway 72), Riverstone Motel is ideally situated as the gateway to various local and  regional attractions, such as Waipara Valley - Canterbury's premier wine growing region and the charming alpine village and spa resort of Hanmer Springs.

During winter, many ski fields are only an hour and a half away by car.

Within the Waimakariri District there are a diverse range of activities, from horse treks to salmon fishing, golfing, jet boating, hiking and tramping, biking. Many beaches along the Canterbury coastline are nearby and during the summer months regional and volunteer lifeguards from the local Surf Lifesaving Clubs patrol the beaches and the surf.

Rangiora and Kaiapoi are bustling townships with delightful town centres - offering a good mix of national and local retail businesses and vibrant cafe cultures. There are several eateries within each that variously cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner options that should suit and satisfy any diet or eating preference.

The Brook Bar and Eatery is literally a 2 minute walk from your room. Open from 11 am, the Brook offers wide ranging menus for lunch and dinner (and bar snacks in between) and has daily specials. The Brook is a firm favourite of many motel guests and Rangiora locals alike. It is a good option for families and offers a range of games and toys to keep children amused.

A huge (and possibly the best in the South Island) PAKnSAVE is less than a 5 minute walk away - and literally offers a vast selection of groceries and toiletries. There is a good fruit and veg section, a deli and bakery on site. The supermarket also has fuel pumps and an EV charging station. The Pak'nSAVE operating hours are 7 am to 10 pm, Monday to Sunday (excepting some public holidays).

A Henry's bottle store is just around the corner from the motel - the perfect option to pick up a bottle of wine, rtd's or a few beers if heading out to a BYO restaurant or a mate's place or just to unwind.

McDonald's & McCafe is about a five minute walk and is open 24 hours (drive through).

There are numerous other fast food outlets and restaurants but a short drive away in the centre of Rangiora... and many offer a delivery service - to your room if you prefer.

A large BP gas and service station is next door to McDonald's and is also open 24 hours.
